HCCV General Secretary Bhakta dasa recently represented HCCV and ISKCON at a Peace Conference by Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri titled: "Islam - Peace for Humanity."


On Saturday 23rd July 2011, Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri addressed political, non-political and religious communities, as well as media, professionals, students and the general public, when he presented a Peace Conference titled: "Islam - Peace for Humanity."


Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri is the founding leader of Minhaj ul Qur'an International, a worldwide organisation whose stated aim is the establishment of unity and understanding between communities, and education for the young in the classical Islamic sciences for the promotion of peace. He is also founder of the Minhaj Welfare Foundation which is for the provision of welfare for the needy and of the Minhaj International University based in Lahore. As well he is the founding chairman of the political party Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). His multilingual skills have made him prominent amongst Muslim scholars as he is fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, English, Arabic and is learned in Persian.


Dr. Qadri has declared a historic fatwa, or Islamic decree, on the vital matter of suicide bombings and terrorist attacks carried out in the name of Islam. This is regarded as a significant and historic step, the first time that such an explicit and unequivocal decree against the perpetrators of terror has been broadcast so widely. This fatwa has seen amounts of 600 pages of research and references from the Qur'an, Hadith, etc. He has also done lots of work on Human Rigths and had been promoting interfaith harmony around the world.


Within a short span of time, Dr. Qadri has emerged as one of the leading Islamic jurists and scholars of this era and one of the world's most renowmed and leading authorities on Islam. He has been speaking to international forums such as World Economic Forum, and US-Islam World Forum, etc.
